The Bohme English Academy has been teaching a wide range of students in the Chubu area of Japan for over twenty years. With schools in Ichinomiya, Aichi-ken and Ginan, Gifu-ken as well as a satellite school in Gifu city, we strive to provide the best possible education for all the students that study with us.

Open position

– Ichinomiya city, Aichi-ken, and Ginan town, Gifu-ken. Tuesday-Saturday. Mainly teaching children of kindergarten & young elementary school age. Working hours are 8 hours per day, more details on that in the interview stage. We are looking to hire a suitable candidate as soon as possible, so candidates with immediate/very quick availability are encouraged to apply.

Teaching style

– Training will be given, but we’d like teachers to be proactive and to understand their own strong points. Every teacher is different, and so we want incorporate the strengths of each individual teacher into our school.

– We focus on a more conversational style, so we’d like our teachers to be able to plan fun & engaging lessons. Curricula and materials are provided, but there is also plenty of scope for teacher flexibility and lesson activity personalization.


– Preferably living in the Nagoya, Ichinomiya, Gifu area (or willing to relocate soon)
– Have experience teaching / working with younger students
– Be positive and energetic
– Have a clear teaching philosophy
– Be willing to collaborate and cooperate with other teachers & staff – we are a relatively small school, so the ability to work closely with the other staff is very important.

Compensation & Benefits

– Starting salary of ¥250,000 / month
– Enrollment in Shakai Hoken (Japanese social insurance)
– Paid holidays (after 6 months of work)
– Potential performance bonuses
