Laboratory Technician for Immediate Start

Position Overview:

Satit Prasarnmit International Programme urgently seeks a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Laboratory Technician. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the science department with an immediate start date. This position involves maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing materials for experiments, and ensuring a safe and efficient learning environment for both students and faculty.

Responsibilities:
1. Lab Maintenance:
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the laboratory facilities.
• Maintain and repair laboratory equipment as needed.
• Manage inventory of chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
2. Experiment Preparation:
• Collaborate with science teachers to prepare materials and set up experiments.
• Ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are readily available for each class.
• Assist in the development of new experiments and activities.
3. Safety Compliance:
• Implement and enforce safety protocols in the laboratory.
• Conduct regular safety checks on equipment and facilities.
• Provide guidance to students on safe laboratory practices.
4. Documentation:
• Keep detailed records of laboratory activities, including equipment maintenance and inventory.
5. Training and Support:
• Assist teachers in delivering safety guidelines and protocols to students.
• Support teachers in the use of technology and software relevant to laboratory activities.
• Assist with science department activities and whole-school events and trips.
Additional Opportunity:
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to conduct paid extra classes after school, providing further academic support to interested students.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a science-related field.
• Previous experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in an educational environment.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in a laboratory setting.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and other staff members.
• Knowledge of basic maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
