Prestigious Private Jr.&Sr. Girls’ High School English teaching position, Tokyo

Project Genius is looking for an experienced EFL instructor to teach at a prestigious private junior and senior girls’ high school located in the centre of Tokyo, near Waseda or Nishi-Waseda station, starting April, 2024/

Our compensation package includes:
• A monthly pre-tax salary of between 280,000 and 290,000 yen for a five day a week schedule.
• Our monthly salary is not reduced during summer, winter, and spring vacations, even when our teachers are not required to report to our client schools.
• Transportation expenses will be fully covered and reimbursed.
• A Japanese school year based renewable contract.
• Provide Social Insurance and Pension package.

We are looking for candidates with the following attributes:
• a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• at least one academic year of experience teaching English as a Foreign Language at a public or private secondary school in Japan
• experience with solo and team teaching in secondary school classrooms in Japan
• ability to teach English composition or essay writing
• experience integrating personal technology (smartphones, tablets, etc.) in lessons
• is comfortable using technology in and outside the classroom
• knowledge of Japanese culture and etiquette
• ability to maintain confidentiality
• the willingness to participate in occasional weekend and off-campus events, such as sports days and open campus days
• a team player
• the ability to work within an established curriculum while also able to diplomatically and proactively initiate changes as needed
• a positive attitude and a readiness to work with students, staff and teachers, both Japanese and non-Japanese, as well as with our off-site office and executive team
• a base level of technical proficiency required to use online tools to compose and share lesson plans with our office and other teachers within the company
• English proficiency
• have basic Japanese communication skills
• current holders of visas allowing work in Japan
(We do not currently sponsor external applicants, but do support visa renewals and provide guarantor services.)
